Carausius, Romano-British Emperor, 286-293. Antoninianus (Bronze, 23 mm, 4.78 g, 6 h), 'C' mint (Camulodunum?), 292-293. IMP C CARAVSIVS P F AVG Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Carausius to right. Rev. P[R]OVID AGGG (sic!) / [S] - P / C Providentia standing front, head to left, holding globe in her right hand and cornucopiae in her left. Cohen 271 var. (reverse legend). RIC 367 var. (reverse legend). Webb -. A very rare variety with faint silvering and an excellent portrait. Minor roughness on the obverse and some weakness on the reverse and with light deposits, otherwise, extremely fine.
